Synopsis

The truth shall set you free.

My name is Calla Price and I’m drowning.

My new world is a dark, dark ocean and I’m being pulled under by secrets.

Can I trust anyone? I don’t know anymore.

The lies are spirals. They twist and turn, binding me with their thorns and serpentine tongues. And just when I think I have it figured out, everything is pulled out from under me.

I’m entangled in the darkness.

But the truth will set me free.

It’s just ahead of me, so close I can touch it. But even though it shines and glimmers, it has glistening fangs and I know it will shred me.

Are you scared?

I am.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have so many contradicted feelings towards this book. I’m so confused and my mind has been literally fuck*d over and over again with this story. The secrets was supposed to be revealed and yet I still don’t know or understand what’s the final reality, if there is one that is.
I’m seriously wondering what the hell is gonna come out next. I have to give it to the author though, way to mess with our minds, it’s so annoying and awesome at the same time!

The beginning confused me a little, I didn’t get the point of the change of location in the story, and I thought I was missing some pieces of the book or the author messed up. I concluded that that this is just how the story rolls. Everything is so misterious and I was feeling the same thing I felt while reading the Mara Dyer’s series, I didn’t know what the hell was going on, no distinction of reality, of the sate of mind of the protagonists or even me!

And then there was this mixed signals in the romance part, because
(view spoiler)

And then the ending, makes me wonder so many things, and who is alive and who is dead? or am i dead? It drives me crazy and I can’t wait for the next book and I need some answers ASAP!

JUST TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON, I THINK I’M CRAZIER THAN ALL THESE CHARACTERS TOGETHER!!

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

Synopsis

“I’m pregnant.”

Molly Gilmore had a good life before she uttered those two stupid words. While preparing to graduate from culinary school and building up the courage to make a move on her hot, sugar-cookie-smelling pastry instructor Marco, she can’t wait to finally have the GREAT life she’s always dreamed about, instead of just the good one she’s been living.

Always known as the quiet ninja, she fully intends to stay hidden in the shadows with her nut-job family, so they have no chance to embarrass her around the man she’s crushed on for two years. Unfortunately, her family has other plans. When they yank her straight out of her comfort zone, she finds herself starring in the craziest train wreck she’s ever witnessed.

Molly ultimately gets a more exciting life that doesn’t revolve around school, but she’s pretty sure the man of her dreams won’t be sticking around long after her family gets a hold of him. There aren’t too many guys who can handle smelling like pee, having the whole world know how he masturbates, and being forced to eat an entire bag of dicks.

Join the Chocolate Lovers and Chocoholics gang for one final story about love, baked goods, making poor life choices, and remembering how important family is—even if they drive you insane.

Mostly because it’s illegal to kill them.

My Review: 5 of 5 stars.

I love this sequel series, just as much as I loved the Chocolate Lovers series. But maybe, just maybe, this one, Chocoholics, was more fun to read. From the first words of the author and the prologue to epilogue I laughed so much, and since this is the last book in the Seduction and Snacks world I may have had some water in my eye in the end.
I really love the dynamics in the group, the “stupidness” too, and there was a lot of it. This series, its characters and stories are the best to read when you’re feeling low, when you need humor and fun in your life. I promise you, you will laugh, roll your eyes and ‘OMG’ a lot. Also, you might be gross out too…
The epilogue, though, that was so important. We don’t often see so far behind our favorite’s characters life and HEA, but here we do and even though some of them are pretty ridiculous, others are downright emotional… That last like a paragraph though, because this is a comedy from beginning to end and I love it with all my heart. I picked this book at not such a good time for me and it has make me feel wonderful and cheerful.
I totally recommend it to you, and if you haven’t read the previous series or this one, you should totally do it. It’s AWESOMELY FUN!

Review: Nocte (The Nocte trilogy) by Courtney Cole

Nocte by Courtney Cole

Synopsis

My name is Calla Price. I’m eighteen years old, and I’m one half of a whole.

My other half– my twin brother, my Finn– is crazy.

I love him. More than life, more than anything. And even though I’m terrified he’ll suck me down with him, no one can save him but me.

I’m doing all I can to stay afloat in a sea of insanity, but I’m drowning more and more each day. So I reach out for a lifeline.

Dare DuBray.

He’s my savior and my anti-Christ. His arms are where I feel safe, where I’m afraid, where I belong, where I’m lost. He will heal me, break me, love me and hate me.

He has the power to destroy me.

Maybe that’s ok. Because I can’t seem to save Finn and love Dare without everyone getting hurt.

Why? Because of a secret.

A secret I’m so busy trying to figure out, that I never see it coming.

You won’t either.

My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

I can honestly say that I never saw all of that coming. I had so many theories of what “the secret” could be, I thought something similar, but it wasn’t exactly what I thought, it was more complex. And, there’s another secret for next book!

This was an interest story, I liked it a lot. But I didn’t like the start of it, or maybe I wasn’t convinced of what I was reading because I was too aware and trying to analyse everything, I mean with that synopsis all you want is get ahead of the author and try to discover things by yourself, so I guess that was my mistake, trying to over-analyse.

At the end of the book, however, I was really invested on the story, couldn’t stop reading last night until I finished it at 3 am, I was so invested in it that I ended up sobbing along the leading character and honestly, I love when books make me feel that much.

The male character, and love interest of our protagonist was interesting, mysterious and I can’t wait to find out what is HIS secret.

P.S. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review
