Review: King of Hearts (Heart series) by L.H. Cosway.

Welcome to the City, London’s most prestigious square mile, where finance reigns and Oliver King is a rising prince.

I used to rule the world.

There might be wolves on Wall Street, but there were crocodiles in Canary Wharf. Some of us craved money. Some of us craved power.

I liked money, and power had its advantages, but what I really wanted was to excel, to surpass the men who came before me. I never cared much for love and romance until I met Alexis.

I could feel it the very moment she walked into the interview, with her outspoken charm and vivacious personality. She cast all the others in shadow, made me laugh when life held no humour. Our friendship should have remained professional, but it wasn’t long before the lines started to blur.

You know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men? Well, I never foresaw where my plans would lead, and only in my darkest hour did I finally see the light…

You can have all the money and prestige in the world and still be the poorest man alive. And love, well, I hate to use a tired old cliché, but love can be the thing that truly sets you free.

***King of Hearts is standalone romance that tells the story of Oliver King, first encountered in Hearts of Fire. This is the third book in L.H. Cosway’s Hearts series.***

What a beautiful story!!
It was brilliant, it was lovely, it was heartbreaking and then it was mending and it was just beautiful. I finished this book at 3 am and I though I wait to write a review because my emotions were all over the place, in the best kind of way. But I’ve slept it off and I honestly don’t have anything intelligent to say about this book because all I want to do is praise it!
This was a beautiful story of a second chance, of passionate, unique love.
I just loved this story. I have already met the male character in the previous book in the series, Hearts of Fire, and he was so intriguing; and in this book that we get to know Oliver King, his life, his story, his past, I couldn’t help but love him so much. And Alexis, she was beautiful, fierce, smart and so much fun to read and be in her mind.
I’ve come to think that L.H. Cosway can do no wrong in her writing, I just love how interesting is everything she writes and it marvels me that every story is so different from the other, and everyone is so unique and like nothing I’ve read before. She writes fun, she writes smart, she writes heart-wrenching and she writes hopefully.
All I can do now is wait to read the next book in the series Hearts of Blue and see with what she’ll surprises us next.
